We are a DCFS licensed preschool, affiliated with The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), serving the early childhood needs of the Bolingbrook area for over 20 years. We provide a Christian curriculum as well as a developmentally appropriate academic and social curriculum that meets the Illinois Early Learning and Development standards. Our mixed-age class structure is flexible, allowing for several options to fit your schedule. The longer 3 1/2 hour day gives your child time to work on those important pre-kindergarten skills. Children love to learn. We love being their teachers!

Our Goal

Our preschool's goal is to help build confident children who have a zest for life and an unending curiosity for all that life offers them. We are a Lutheran preschool and want the young child to begin to realize and understand his or her role as a child of God. We strive to provide endless opportunities for each child to observe, discover, and interact with the expanding world. We recognize that each child learns in many different ways and have planned our program with this fact in mind.

Our Curriculum

Using Creative Curriculum, our activities are exploration based and thematic in nature in order to meet the varied interests of our young students, balancing child-directed and teacher-directed activities. Our academic curriculum includes social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language skills using the Illinois Early Learning and Developmental standards as a guide. We introduce these skills using hands-on, play based activities, which are developmentally appropriate to the age. Individual portfolios help to document development and guide lesson planning to meet the needs of the students.

Our religious curriculum is planned through our Pastor and Director. It is designed to introduce children to important stories and people of the Bible in an age-appropriate manner, providing a base of knowledge that they can build on. Children are also introduced to the words of the Lord's Prayer, the Apostles' Creed, and the Ten Commandments.

Our Daily Schedule

Arrival Time - Children arrive and greet friends. They are given a small amount time to transition into the learning environment through free exploration.

Morning Large Group - Children meet as a group with the teacher to welcome and set the mood for the day. Regular activities such as calendar and weather are done, as well as our devotion time each day. Chapel day occurs at this time once each week, where we meet with our Pastor.

Large Motor Time - Usually we meet on the playground for active play time, promoting large muscle movement in a safe environment.

Snack Time - We take time to sit down for a healthy snack and drink, supplied by parents who take turns as shoppers. We promote family style eating where children are encouraged to use good manners and converse.

Story Time - Children meet as a group with the teacher to read a story which matches the theme of the week.

Learning Centers - Regular centers such as dramatic play, blocks, reading, fine motor, and art are available along with teacher-directed interest areas for children to choose from.

Music & Movement Large Group - Our final large group of the day allows us to use movement, music, and games to work on skills as a group.
